1. With a view to contributing to the objectives of the common fisheries policy set out in Article 2 of Regulation (EU) No 1380/2013, this Regulation establishes rules on the collection, management and use of biological, environmental, technical and socioeconomic data in the fisheries sector as provided for in Article 25 of Regulation (EU) No 1380/2013. 2. The data referred to in paragraph 1 shall only be collected if no obligation to collect them exists under Union legal acts other than this Regulation. 3. For data necessary for fisheries management which are collected under other Union legal acts, this Regulation only defines rules for the use and transmission of those data. |
