1. Member States shall designate a port security authority for each port covered by this Directive. A port security authority may be designated for more than one port. 2. The port security authority shall be responsible for the preparation and implementation of port security plans based on the findings of port security assessments. 3. Member States may designate a ‘competent authority for maritime security’ provided for under Regulation (EC) No 725/2004 as port security authority. |
