1. The addressee of a safety recommendation shall acknowledge receipt of the transmittal letter and inform the safety investigation authority which issued the recommendation within 90 days of the receipt of that letter, of the actions taken or under consideration, and where appropriate, of the time necessary for their completion and where no action is taken, the reasons therefor. 2. Within 60 days of the receipt of the reply, the safety investigation authority shall inform the addressee whether or not it considers the reply adequate and give justification when it disagrees with the decision to take no action. 3. Each safety investigation authority shall implement procedures to record the responses to the safety recommendations it issued. 4. Each entity receiving a safety recommendation, including the authorities responsible for civil aviation safety at the Member State and Union level, shall implement procedures to monitor the progress of the action taken in response to the safety recommendations received. |

Safety investigation authorities shall record in the central repository established under Commission Regulation (EC) No 1321/2007 of 12 November 2007 laying down implementing rules for the integration into a central repository of information on civil aviation occurrences exchanged in accordance with Directive 2003/42/EC () all safety recommendations issued in accordance with Article 17(1) and (2) as well as the responses thereto. Safety investigation authorities shall similarly record in the central repository all safety recommendations received from third countries. |
