Transitional arrangements concerning the processing of personal data held by Europol Without prejudice to Article 74a, for personal data that Europol received before 28 June 2022, Europol may verify whether those personal data relate to one of the categories of data subjects set out in Annex II. To that end, Europol may carry out a pre-analysis of those personal data for a period of up to 18 months from the date the data were first received or, in justified cases and with the prior authorisation of the EDPS, for a longer period. The maximum period of processing the data referred to in the first subparagraph shall be three years from the day of receipt of the data by Europol.
