In accordance with the principle of solidarity and fair sharing of responsibility, as enshrined in Article 80 TFEU, and with the objective of reinforcing mutual trust, this Regulation: (a) sets out a common framework for the management of asylum and migration in the Union, and for the functioning of the Common European Asylum System; (b) establishes a mechanism for solidarity; (c) lays down the criteria and mechanisms for determining the Member State responsible for examining an application for international protection. |
