1. The information referred to in Article 19 shall be provided in writing in a concise, transparent, intelligible and easily accessible form, using clear and plain language and in a language that the applicant understands or is reasonably supposed to understand. Member States shall use the common information material drawn up pursuant to paragraph 2 of this Article for that purpose. The common information material shall also be available online, on an open and easily accessible platform for applicants for international protection. Where necessary for the applicant’s proper understanding, the information shall also be provided orally, where appropriate in connection with the personal interview referred to in Article 22. For that purpose, the applicant shall have the opportunity to ask questions to clarify the information provided. Member States may use the support of multimedia equipment. |
Regulation (EU) 2024/1351 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 May 2024 on asylum and migration management, amending Regulations (EU) 2021/1147 and (EU) 2021/1060 and repealing Regulation (EU) No 604/2013 article 20 CELEX: 32024R1351 2. The Asylum Agency shall, in close cooperation with the responsible national authorities, draw up common information material, as well as specific information for unaccompanied minors and vulnerable applicants, where necessary for applicants with specific reception or procedural needs, containing at least the information referred to in Article 19. That common information material shall also include information regarding the application of Regulation (EU) 2024/1358 and, in particular, the purpose for which the data of an applicant may be processed within Eurodac. The common information material shall be drawn up in such a manner as to enable Member States to complete it with additional Member State-specific information. 3. Where the applicant is a minor, the information referred to in Article 19 shall be provided in a child-friendly manner by appropriately trained staff and in the presence of the applicant’s representative. |
