1. For the purposes of Article 4(1), (2) and (3), companies shall, for each of their ships, determine the greenhouse gas ◄ emissions in accordance with any of the methods set out in Annex I, and monitor other relevant information in accordance with the rules set out in Annex II or adopted pursuant to it. |
Regulation (EU) 2015/757 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2015 on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport, and amending Directive 2009/16/EC (Text with EEA relevance) article 5 CELEX: 02015R0757-20250101 2. The Commission is empowered to adopt delegated acts in accordance with Article 23 of this Regulation to amend Annexes I and II to this Regulation, in order to take into account the inclusion of CH4 and N2O emissions, as well as the inclusion of greenhouse gas emissions from offshore ships, within the scope of this Regulation, and amendments to Directive 2003/87/EC, as well as to align those Annexes with the implementing acts adopted under Article 14(1) of that Directive, with relevant international rules and with international and European standards. The Commission is also empowered to adopt delegated acts in accordance with Article 23 of this Regulation to amend Annexes I and II to this Regulation in order to refine the elements of the monitoring methods set out therein, in the light of technological and scientific developments and in order to ensure the effective operation of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) established pursuant to Directive 2003/87/EC. |
Regulation (EU) 2015/757 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2015 on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport, and amending Directive 2009/16/EC (Text with EEA relevance) article 5 CELEX: 02015R0757-20250101 By 1 October 2023, the Commission shall adopt the delegated acts to take into account the inclusion of CH4 and N2O emissions, as well as the inclusion of greenhouse gas emissions from offshore ships, within the scope of this Regulation, as referred to in the first subparagraph of this paragraph. The methods for monitoring CH4 and N2O emissions shall be based on the same principles as the methods for monitoring CO2 emissions as set out in Annex I to this Regulation, with any adjustments necessary to reflect the nature of the relevant greenhouse gas. The methods set out in Annex I to this Regulation and the rules set out in Annex II to this Regulation shall, where appropriate, be aligned with the methods and rules set out in a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the use of renewable and low-carbon fuels in maritime transport and amending Directive 2009/16/EC. |
