1. The Management Board shall be composed of one representative from each Member State and one representative of the Commission. Each representative shall have a voting right. 2. The members of the Management Board shall be appointed taking into account their knowledge of law enforcement cooperation. 3. Each member of the Management Board shall have an alternate member who shall be appointed taking into account the criterion set out in paragraph 2. The alternate member shall represent the member in his or her absence.
The principle of a balanced gender representation on the Management Board shall also be taken into account. 4. Without prejudice to the right of the Member States and of the Commission to terminate the mandate of their respective member and alternate member, the membership of the Management Board shall be for a period of four years. That term shall be extendable. |
