1. Member States shall not prohibit, restrict or impede the placing on the market or putting into service in their territory of equipment referred to in Article 2(1) which complies with the provisions of this Directive, bears the CE marking and the indication of the guaranteed sound power level and is accompanied by an EC declaration of conformity. 2. At trade fairs, exhibitions, demonstrations, and similar events, Member States shall not prevent the showing of equipment referred to in Article 2(1) which does not conform to the provisions of this Directive, provided that a visible sign clearly indicates that such equipment does not conform and that it is not placed on the market or put into service until it has been brought into conformity by the manufacturer or his authorised representative established in the Community. During demonstrations adequate safety measures shall be taken to ensure the protection of persons. |
