Product description 80A filters increase color temperature of the light from 3200K to 5500K and correct the use of daylight film with standard household incandescent lamps. They have a filter factor of 2.4 and require 1 1/3 f-stops of additional light. All light sources, natural or artifical, have characteristics that affect color rendition on film. Most films are engineerd for either daylight or tungsten photofloods which are rated respectively at 5500K degrees (daylight) and 3400K degrees (photofloods) on the Kelvin(K) color temperature scale. Color correcting filters are designed to 'warm', 'cool' and/or correct for the many variations of lighting you might encounter. All filters have a 'filter factor' which is a measurement of the light it absorbes. Cameras with internal metering (through the lens) will automaticly adjust the exposure. With external or hand held meters you must allow for this factor. Note: Modern strobes (flash) are approximately 5500K and will 'overpower' household lighting. With daylight film, no filtration is necessary unless special effects are desired. 80 series filters come in several strengths are available in most sizes. Other 80 series filters are: 80B for use with tungsten photofloods. 80C for use with clear flash bulbs. Other useful color correcting filters are: 85 series for tungsten film in daylight; The opposite of 80 series. 81 series for warming effect. 82 series fo Amazon.com Balances daylight film with most standard tungsten lighting, studio lighting, and copy stand lighting. | ![]() B0000AIS20 Availability: Currently unavailable Score: 8.000 Category: Electronics Rating: 3.3 Votes: 4 Find similar productsHoya 72mm FLW Fluorescent Multi Coated Glass Filter. Florescent lighting has characteristics that affect color rendition. This color shift is not usually visual to the human eye but will cause adverse effects on film. When shooting under daylight florescents your pictures will have a purplish tone. Hoya's FL-D filter corrects and restores a normal color balance. In industrial situations you might encounter warm white florescents which will give a greenish tone, requiring Hoya's FL-W corrective filter. Both filters are available in coated and multi coated (stronger flare prevention) versions and all popular sizes. |

Neutral Density filters reduce the amount of light passing through the camera lens without changing the color of the scene. They are especially useful in bright light conditions to help prevent overexposure. Neutral Density filters also allow proper exposure at a wider lens opening for reduced depth-of-field to highlight a key subject by making the foreground and/or background out of focus. Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a closely guarded proprietary process that entails permanently laminating the filter material in between two pieces of optical glass that are ground flat to tolerances of a ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounting them in precision metal rings. | ![]() B000J42316 Availability: Currently unavailable Score: 7.576 Category: Electronics Rating: 4.1 Votes: 7 Find similar productsSunpak DF-7034-UV 58mm Coated Ultra-Violet Filter.
