Carter Products 50009306 1/2-Inch-by-93-1/2-Inch AccuRight Bandsaw Blade. From the Manufacturer AccuRight band saw blades are designed specifically to help you work faster, and with greater accuracy. AccuRight sets new standards for durability; smooth, straight cuts; and the ability to shape precise contours. AccuRight blades work well in a wide range of material; hardwoods, softwoods, and some plastics. They feature a milled tooth, hard-edge flex back design and are available in sizes to fit almost all bandsaws on the market today, from home craftsman to industrial models. Select the blade based on type of cut needed. Thickness of material dictates TPI (Tooth Per Inch) requirements. The general rule of thumb is to use a blade with enough TPI to have at least 3 to 6 teeth in the material when cutting, but no more than 12 and no less than 3. EX: 1-Inch thick stock should use a 6 or 10 TPI. 3 TPI and less would give too rough a cut and could cause chipping in some woods. 14 TPI and higher would not remove sawdust adequately and thus would burn as it cuts, increasing the heat in the blade and reducing its useful life. Type of Cut determines blade width; i.e. the tighter the radius to the curve the smaller the blade needs to be. 1/8-Inch and below Best for tight radius scroll work (excellent choice for thin material when used with the Carter Stabilizer) 3/16-Inch to 3/8-Inch Cutting curves and light resaw with smaller saws (12-Inch) 3/16-Inch to 1/4-Inch excellent with Carter Stabilizer. 1/2-Inch to 1-Inch Resaw and large contours (most 14-Inch saws will only be able to tension a 1/2-Inch with just the stock spring so we recommend a Carter Cobra Coil to anyone with a 14-Inch saw ordering 1/2-Inch or larger blades. Blade length can be determined be looking in your saws user manual or on the saw itself. Most commercially available 14-Inch saws use 93-1/2-Inch standard blades or 105-Inch for saws with the riser block installed. Please confirm your blade size before ordering.

Carbon tool steel bandsaw blades are designed to work with a woodcutting saw to cut all types of woods 800-3,500 fpm; especially ideal for soft woods, i.e. pine, polar, fir and spruce. If used with a good release agent, it can cut plastics at a range of 200-800 fpm, or non-ferrous metal ( i.e. aluminum, copper and brass ) at a range of 200-1,000 fpm. However, to cut ferrous metals or mild steel ( don't cut hard steel ), you must only use a metal-cutting saw at a range of 40-200 fpm. Having liquid coolant running along the back of the blade yields the best results is highly recommended. The following is a guideline for choosing an adequate tooth pattern to cut metal materials, Use * 24 raker to cut 1/16 to 1/4 thick material, * 18 raker to cut 1/8 to 3/8 thick material,* 14 raker to cut 3/16 to 7/16 thick material,* 10 raker to cut 1/4 to 5/8 thick material,* 6 Hook to cut 3/8 to 2 thick material,* 4 Hook to cut 3/4 to 4-1/2 thick material,* 3 Hook to cut 1 to 6 thick material,* 2 Hook to cut 2 to 12 thick material.
